Substrate Stiffness Changes Cell Rolling and Adhesion over L-selectin Coated Surface in a Viscous Shear Flow

Understanding the rolling and adhesion behavior of a cell on the vascular surface under viscous shear flow is important to better understand many biological processes. One of the important examples is the adhesion of the leukocytes onto sites of an inflammation. Recently, researchers have started to investigate the effects of surface rigidity on the cell rolling and adhesion. Inspired by recent studies, we employed Adhesive dynamics to investigate effects of substrate rigidity on a rolling cell in a hydrodynamic flow.
