Delensing the CMB with the cosmic infrared background: the impact of foregrounds

no code implementations1 Feb 2021 Antón Baleato Lizancos, Anthony Challinor, Blake D. Sherwin, Toshiya Namikawa

We also show, by means of an analytic model, that the bias arising from the higher-point functions of the CIB itself ought to be negligible.

Constraining reionization with the first measurement of the cross-correlation between the CMB optical-depth fluctuations and the Compton y-map

no code implementations1 Feb 2021 Toshiya Namikawa, Anirban Roy, Blake D. Sherwin, Nicholas Battaglia, David N. Spergel

Since the power spectrum of the electron density fluctuations is constrained by the $\delta\tau$ auto spectrum, the temperature constraints should be only weakly model-dependent on the details of the electron distributions and should be statistically representative of the temperature in ionized bubbles during reionization.

Detection and Removal of B-mode Dust Foregrounds with Signatures of Statistical Anisotropy

1 code implementation23 May 2018 Oliver H. E. Philcox, Blake D. Sherwin, Alexander van Engelen

Searches for inflationary gravitational wave signals in the CMB B-mode polarisation are expected to reach unprecedented power over the next decade.

Multitracer CMB delensing maps from Planck and WISE data

1 code implementation5 May 2017 Byeonghee Yu, J. Colin Hill, Blake D. Sherwin

In this work, we provide a detailed characterization of a full-sky, dust-cleaned cosmic infrared background (CIB) map for delensing and construct a further-improved delensing template by adding additional tracers to increase delensing performance.

Delensing the CMB with the Cosmic Infrared Background

1 code implementation18 Feb 2015 Blake D. Sherwin, Marcel Schmittfull

Though further work on the impact of foreground residuals is required, our overall conclusions for delensing with current CIB data are optimistic: this delensing method can tighten constraints on $r$ by a factor up to $\approx2. 2$, and by a factor up to $\approx4$ when combined with external $\approx 3 \mu$K-arcmin lensing reconstruction, without requiring the modeling of CIB properties.
