The superconducting gap structure of a topological crystalline insulator (TCI) candidate ZrRuAs ($T^{\rm on}_{\rm c}$ = 7. 9(1) K) with a noncentrosymmetric crystal structure has been investigated using muon spin rotation/relaxation ($\mu$SR) measurements in transverse-field (TF) and zero-field (ZF) geometries.

Time-reversal symmetry breaking (TRSB) with a Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) -like superconductivity occurs in a small, but growing number of noncentrosymmetric (NCS) materials, although the mechanism is poorly understood.

Analysing the local magnetic field distribution obtained from the muSR spectra we identify regions of a Meissner state where the applied magnetic field is entirely expelled from the sample, an intermediate state where normal and Meissner states coexist, and a mixed state where a well-defined flux-line lattice is formed.
